Softball Recap: Columbia Has No Trouble Against Salem

Columbia was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Salem on Thursday. The Eagles put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 8-0 victory. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 matches by six runs or more this season.

Columbia's win bumped their record up to 21-5. As for Salem, the defeat snapped their winning streak at 13 games and leaves them with a 18-3 record.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Columbia will welcome Southwestern at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Piasa Birds' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Salem, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Flora at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats are facing the Wolves at the right time seeing as the Wolves are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
