Football Game Preview: Checotah Wildcats vs. Lincoln Christian Bulldogs + Official Tickets

Checotah hasn't had much luck against Lincoln Christian recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Wildcats will head out to face off against the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m.

Checotah came into this matchup off a tough 21-point defeat last Friday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Holland Hall by a score of 29-26 on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma football rankings (they are ranked 105th, while the Dutch are ranked 31st).

Despite the loss, Checotah saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Cole Rolland rushed for 130 yards and a pair of TDs, and also threw for 53 yards and one touchdown. Those 130 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Rolland. Jayden Ellen helped out on the ground, rushing for 104 yards.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Bulldogs on Thursday. Lincoln Christian simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Muldrow 49-3. Lincoln Christian might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by 29 points or more this season.

Lincoln Christian didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Caleb Peterson and Parker Rogers.

Lincoln Christian's win bumped their record up to 7-0. As for Checotah, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.

Checotah took a serious blow against Lincoln Christian in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, falling 68-12. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
