Elizabeth Forward has gone a perfect 8-0 against Laurel Highlands recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Warriors will be playing at home against the Mustangs at 4:15 p.m. One thing working in Elizabeth Forward's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last three contests.
Elizabeth Forward's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed last Wednesday. They put the hurt on Ringgold with a sharp 11-0 win. Considering the Warriors have won four games by more than nine runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Berlyn Holibaugh and Julia Resnik made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Holibaugh pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Resnik tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. At bat, Holibaugh scored three runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-4, while Resnik scored two runs while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, Alivia Grimm was excellent, going 1-for-2 with three RBI and one double. That double marked the first that she hit this season.
Meanwhile, Laurel Highlands fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Belle Vernon on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Leopards by a score of 7-6.
Like Elizabeth Forward, Laurel Highlands also got a great game from a two-way player: Payton Senge. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 13 batters over nine innings while giving up four earned (and three unearned) runs off ten hits (and only one walk). Senge was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run.
In other batting news, Aubrey Speelman made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Kayla Howell was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.
Elizabeth Forward's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Laurel Highlands, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-4.
Thursday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Elizabeth Forward hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .392. However, it's not like Laurel Highlands struggles in that department as they've averaged .359. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
