Volleyball Recap: Houston Comes Up Short

After flying high against Schaeffer Academy on Tuesday, Houston came back down to earth. The Hurricanes lost 3-0 to the Mabel-Canton Cougars on Thursday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Hurricanes of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-6, 25-16, 25-12.

Defeat or not, Houston got some senior leadership from Olivia Yohe and Cadence Koehler. Yohe had eight digs and one block, while Koehler had 13 digs.

Houston's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Mabel-Canton, the win keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Houston is set to face off against their familiar foe Glenville-Emmons at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Mabel-Canton will challenge rival Southland at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
