Softball Recap: Long Branch Takes a Loss

Long Branch was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 14th straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 19-15 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Liberty Lions. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 19-0 on April 2nd.

Jaidyn Turner made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run. Pricilla Fiore was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three runs and one RBI.

Long Branch's loss dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Liberty, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Long Branch will venture away from home to challenge Lakewood at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Liberty, they will head out to square off against Brick Township at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
