Baseball Game Preview: Brearley Bears vs. New Providence Pioneers

The Brearley Bears will face off against the New Providence Pioneers at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

On Friday, Brearley came up short against Elizabeth and fell 8-3.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 13 runs the game before, New Providence was a bit more limited in their match on Thursday. They fell just short of Oratory Prep by a score of 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Pioneers have suffered since April 26, 2024.

New Providence saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Matthew Santacross, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.

New Providence's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Brearley, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Brearley came out on top in a nail-biter against New Providence in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, sneaking past 1-0. Do the Bears have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Pioneers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
