Football Game Preview: South Davidson Wildcats vs. South Stokes Sauras

The South Davidson Wildcats will head out to challenge the South Stokes Sauras at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. South Davidson will come into the game with an undefeated record on the line.

South Davidson's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Winston-Salem Preparatory Academy 27-0. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by 21 points or more this season.

Gage Underwood continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 137 yards and one touchdown on only ten carries, while also throwing for 15 yards and one TD. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 102 rushing yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: South Davidson was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 250 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 192 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

South Davidson didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Underwood and Jacob Hill.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 40 points the game before, South Stokes was a bit more limited in their game last Friday. They lost 28-6 to Bishop McGuinness.

South Stokes' loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for South Davidson, their record is now 6-0.

South Davidson ended up a good deal behind South Stokes when the teams last played back in March of 2021, losing 21-6. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
