Basketball Recap: Jason Vidaurri's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Marshall over Klein Collins

Marshall saw some tournament action on Thursday. They fell 77-73 to the Klein Collins Tigers. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (61), the Rams still had to take the loss.

Marshall lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Jason Vidaurri, who shot 71% from the field to rack up 22 points in addition to eight assists and eight boards. Thanks to that strong game, he now owns an excellent 50% field goal percentage. Another player making a difference was Liam Curry, who went 6-for-13 en route to 21 points and seven rebounds.

Marshall's loss dropped their record down to 3-1. As for Klein Collins, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Marshall wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 57-42 defeat against Brenham on the 20th. As for Klein Collins, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 69-59 victory against Caney Creek on the 20th.
