Great Lakes Girls Basketball Round Up

When a team scores 46 points, it’s unlikely an opposing player will outscore them. But that’s what Ashley Hall did to Windham (Windham, Ohio).

The Pymatuning Valley (Andover, Ohio) senior dropped a school record 47 points on the Bombers in an 80-46 win. She hit seven 3-pointers.

Hall, who is averaging 23.5 points per game, has also scored 38, 34 and 32 points this season. She is 91 points away from 1,000.

Here’s a look at who else has lit up the Great Lakes Region since the start of the New Year.

Quadruple-Double: Island Trees (Levittown, N.Y.) junior Brianna Fitzgerald had a region-best 14 assists in a win over Clarke (Westbury, N.Y.). That was part of a quadruple-double that also included 19 points, 15 rebounds and 12 steals.

30-Something: Delaware Christian (Delaware, Ohio) junior Lyssi Snouffer grabbed a region-best 31 rebounds in a win over Tree of Life Christian (Columbus, Ohio). It was Snouffer’s third 30-plus rebound game in her career. The other two – a 37-rebound performance as a sophomore and a 36-board game earlier this season – both came against Tree of Life as well. Snouffer, a 1,000-point scorer, has 874 career rebounds.

Thrice as Nice: Three players – Faith Baptist (Davison, Mich.) junior Anna Ahrens, Seton Catholic (Richmond, Ind.) freshman Lydia Reichley and Battle Creek Academy (Battle Creek, Mich.) senior Daria Ulrich – had 17 steals in a game to top the Great Lakes leaderboard over the past two weeks.

40-Something: After scoring 42 points combined in the previous four games, Caston (Fulton, Ind.) sophomore Jordan Clingler dropped 45 in a 69-32 win over Faith Christian (Lafayette, Ind.). She also grabbed 11 rebounds.
