Recap: Victory Christian Academy Knights vs. Vista Panthers
After flying high against the Lincoln Hornets last Monday, the Victory Christian Academy Knights came back down to earth. Victory Christian Academy took a 61-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of Vista. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Victory Christian Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Angel Escarcega, who scored 13 points along with five assists and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Zennedjian, who scored 12 points.
Victory Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Vista, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Victory Christian Academy will square off against Mar Vista at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Vista, they will head out on the road to challenge Rancho Buena Vista at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Rancho Buena Vista sitting on five straight victories and Vista on four.
