Basketball Recap: Prairie View Takes a Loss

Prairie View lost against Burlington back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Prairie View Buffalos fell to the Burlington Wildcats 44-40.

Leading Burlington to victory were Alexa Splechter and Mac Medlock. Splechter posted eight points and six steals, while Medlock scored 15 points and three steals. Splechter is becoming a predictor of Burlington's success: when she posts at least five steals the team is undefeated (and 5-6 when she doesn't). Hattie Burgio was another key player, putting up seven points and 11 rebounds.

Prairie View's defeat dropped their record down to 10-5-1. As for Burlington, their victory bumped their record up to 11-6.

Coming up, Prairie View will be playing at home against Anderson County on Friday. As for Burlington, they will venture away from home to challenge Santa Fe Trail at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
