Basketball Recap: Conant's Higher State Rank on Full Display on Thursday

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against New Trier, Conant was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They strolled past the Hoffman Estates Hawks with points to spare, taking the game 50-35. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 211th, while the Hawks are ranked 536th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Conant has also been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 13-11 record this season. As for Hoffman Estates, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-21.

Conant will face off against Downers Grove North at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hoffman Estates has already played their next match (against Palatine), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
