Basketball Recap: Lakota East Takes a Loss

After flying high against Fairfield last Saturday, Lakota East came back down to earth. The Lakota East Thunderhawks had to suffer through a 70-29 loss at the hands of the Princeton Vikings. The contest marked the Thunderhawks' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Princeton was led to victory by Mari Gerton and Erin Thomas. Gerton went 11 for 22 on her way to 22 points and seven steals, while Thomas went 12 of 21 en route to 24 points. Those 24 points gave Thomas a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kamryn Lowe, who went 6 for 8 to rack up 9 points.

Lakota East's defeat dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Princeton, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season.

Lakota East wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 55-52 loss against Colerain on the 8th. As for Princeton, they have also already played their next contest, a 63-26 victory against Fairfield on the 8th.
