4A Region II District 15 recap Oct. 3, 2012
Ennis extended the longest winning streak in 4A Region II District 15 this week by beating Seguin, 43-21. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
Red Oak was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from sixth to fourth in the league. The Hawks beat Lake Ridge 61-7 earlier in the week.
Mansfield Summit's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Antonio Bennett threw for 281 and four touchdowns and Rodney Hester had 111 yards receiving. On the ground Daymon Smith chipped in 135 yards.
Mansfield Legacy's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Broncos feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Brady Burke has thrown for 823 yards and nine touchdowns this season, while Marchie Murdock has 25 catches for 322 yards. Kijana Amous leads the league in rushing with 497 yards.
A big matchup in 4A Region II District 15 this week will be when Lancaster takes on Waxahachie. The Tigers are currently in first, while the Indians are in third.
Mansfield Legacy moved up to 259 from 327 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Broncos climbed the ranks as a result of a 28-20 win over the Broncos.
