Baseball Recap: Oak Grove Find Success

Oak Grove won against Northeast Jones last Tuesday with nine runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. Oak Grove came out on top against the Lamar Raiders by a score of 9-4. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Warriors.

Stratton Farmer looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Kendrell Roberts was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Eric Booth Jr was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Oak Grove was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .438. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Oak Grove's win bumped their record up to 10-4. As for Lamar, with the loss, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-3.

Oak Grove didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 10-0 victory against Pearl on the 18th. As for Lamar, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Simpson Academy at 6:00 p.m. on April 8.
