Softball Recap: Riverdale Comes Up Short

Riverdale extended their losing streak to five on Wednesday, dropping them down to 3-7. They came up short against the Arcadia Redskins, falling 14-5. If the Falcons were looking for revenge after losing 13-12 to the Redskins when the teams met back in April of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Riverdale saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Addi Manns, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another was Kenzie Furr, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.

As for Arcadia, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-6. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by nine runs or more this season.

On Arcadia's side, Addison Colman was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Averie Smarr was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Riverdale will take on Upper Scioto Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Rams have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.82 runs per game on average), something the Falcons will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Arcadia, they will face off against Hopewell-Loudon at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
