Softball Game Preview: Gloucester City Lions vs. Kingsway Dragons

The Gloucester City Lions will take on the Kingsway Dragons at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

On Monday, Gloucester City had just enough and edged out Cherokee 5-3. That's two games straight that the Lions have won by exactly two runs.

Meanwhile, Kingsway strolled into their game on Saturday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 5-4 W against Steinert. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Dragons have posted since May 11, 2024.

Kingsway's victory was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-0. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Gloucester City, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.
