Baseball Game Preview: Muskego Warriors vs. Franklin Sabers

The Muskego Warriors will venture away from home to face off against the Franklin Sabers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Muskego sitting on three straight wins and Franklin on seven.

Muskego barely beat Waukesha West the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Warriors put the hurt on the Wolverines with a sharp 8-1 victory on Thursday. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by seven runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, Franklin won against Burlington on Tuesday with three runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Sabers beat Greendale by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 3-2.

Cameron Lund looked comfortable as he pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Tavin Nass, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That run was his first of the season.

Franklin pushed their record up to 7-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.6 runs over those games. As for Muskego, their record now sits at 6-3.

Everything went Muskego's way against Franklin in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Muskego made off with a 12-2 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
