Volleyball Recap: Valmeyer Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

There's no place like home for Valmeyer, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Lebanon Greyhounds on Thursday. The Pirates have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Greyhounds, too.

The 2-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Valmeyer was: they took both sets by at least 13 points. The final score came out to 25-12, 25-12.

Valmeyer's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Maddi Huddleston, who had three digs and three aces. What's more, Huddleston racked up 17 assists, the most she's had over her last six contests. The team also got some help courtesy of Laney Dehn, who had six digs and four aces.

They weren't the only good servers: Valmeyer was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

With the win, Valmeyer broke their four-match losing streak and moved their record to 4-14-1. As for Lebanon, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-20.

Valmeyer has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Chester on the 29th. As for Lebanon, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-1 loss against Faith Bible Christian Academy/Mid-America Prep on the 26th.
