League recap: Briggs throws longest pass in league this season for O'Hara

Michael Briggs and Cardell Miller provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Warrensburg. The longest such play in West Central this season, the connection resulted in 75 yards.

Center extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Clinton, 33-0. The victory was the sixth in a row for the Yellowjackets.

Smith-Cotton's dynamic duo of Dakota Brown and Seth Redford proved tough for St. Pius X to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Brown threw for 176 yards and two touchdowns and Redford had 145 yards receiving. Chance McMullin helped Smith-Cotton's passing attack out by catching three balls for 16 yards.

Chris Sidfrid was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 121 yards on 33 carries as the Cardinals lost to the Warriors. Teammate Ian McWilliams added to the ground attack by rushing for seven yards.

St. Pius X's Grant Gavin and Bennie Palmentere have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading West Central in both passing and receiving yards. Gavin has thrown for 1091 yards this season, while Palmentere, a 5-foot-7 receiver, has 27 catches for 317 yards. Clinton's Sidfrid leads the league in rushing yards with 1823.

The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Clinton takes on second place Center. Chris Smoot's team fell to Center last week, while Center beat Chris Smoot's team.

O'Hara and the Tigers played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with O'Hara eventually emerging with a 10-6 victory. Briggs threw for 116 yards and one touchdown in the win.
