Basketball Recap: Blake Stahl's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Galva over Bureau Valley

If Galva was feeling good fresh off their 88-54 takedown of ROWVA/Williamsfield last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Galva Wildcats came up short against the Bureau Valley Storm on Tuesday, falling 59-34. The Wildcats have struggled against the Storm recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Galva's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Blake Stahl, who posted eight points. Jay Smith was another key player, putting up seven points.

Galva's loss dropped their record down to 18-6. As for Bureau Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season.

Galva wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 90-45 win against Knoxville on the 7th. As for Bureau Valley, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 54-36 victory against Annawan on the 7th.
