Basketball Recap: Sports Leadership & Management Skates Past Patel with Ease

Sports Leadership & Management won the last time they faced Patel and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Sports Leadership & Management Spartans took their matchup with ease, bagging a 52-18 win over the Patel Trailblazers. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Spartans.

Skylar Payne was her usual excellent self, going 11 for 22 en route to 26 points in addition to seven assists and six rebounds. She is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Ayrevelis Rivera, who posted eight points along with nine boards and four steals.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Sports Leadership & Management was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 3.2 assists per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 8.7.

Sports Leadership & Management has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 8-12 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.0 points per game. As for Patel, they dropped their record down to 1-15 with the defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coincidentally, Sports Leadership & Management and Patel will both be playing Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate the next time they take the court. Patel will head out to face Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Sports Leadership & Management will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
