Roanoke-Benson is a perfect 4-0 against Dwight since September of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Rockets will take on the Trojans at 7:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

On Tuesday, Roanoke-Benson didn't have quite enough to beat Ridgeview and fell 2-1.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Roanoke-Benson sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The final score came out to 25-17, 21-25, 25-20.

Meanwhile, Dwight unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-match winning streak on Monday. They fell just short of Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley by a score of 2-1.

Dwight might've come up short, but they didn't make it easy on Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley: every set was decided by two points or less. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 22-25, 25-23.

Roanoke-Benson's loss dropped their record down to 5-20-1. As for Dwight, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-11.

Roanoke-Benson was able to grind out a solid victory over Dwight in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, winning 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rockets since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
