League recap: Brunswick propelled into state Top 25 after victory

Brunswick was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after topping Oxford Hills. The Dragons came in at 18 in the state poll after placing at number 26 last week.

Lawrence extended the longest winning streak in A Pine Tree this week by beating Cony, 27-6. The win marks seventh in a row for the the Bulldogs.

Skowhegan's Adam Clukey and Grant Benson have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 5-10 quarterback Clukey has thrown for 254 yards this season, while Benson has eight catches for 162 yards. Malik Geiger from the Vikings leads the league in rushing with 213 yards.

The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between Brunswick and Lawrence. Dan Cooper's team enters the contest ranked 18th in the state, while John Hersom's team ranks third.

Little was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from 10th to eighth in A Pine Tree. The Eddies defeated the Eddies 51-29 earlier in the week.
