            Softball Recap: Howell Highlanders vs. Lake Orion Dragons        
        
		
        
        
            Howell came out on top against Lake Orion  on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run fifth inning. The Highlanders sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  9-7  win over the Dragons. The  victory was a breath of fresh air for the Highlanders as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
 Allison Ulanowski spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered  just two earned  (and five unearned) runs on three hits and racked up seven Ks.
 At the plate,  the team  relied heavily on  Leighton Scott, who  went a perfect 3-for-3 with two  runs and one  double. Another player making a difference was  Zoey Overton, who  went 1-for-2 with two  RBI and one  run.
Howell's win bumped their record up to 13-8. As for Lake Orion, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5.
 Coming up, Howell is taking a road trip to  face off against Northville  at 4:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. As for Lake Orion, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bloomfield Hills  at 4:30  p.m.  on Tuesday.
