Softball Recap: North Pocono's Loss Ends Ten-Game Winning Streak at Home

North Pocono dropped their record down to 10-3 on Thursday, which also ended the team's ten-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season. They lost 10-3 to the Valley View Cougars. The matchup marked the Trojans' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

North Pocono saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Riley Grambo, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

As for Valley View, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 11-1-1. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.1 runs over those games.

On Valley View's side, Abbi Call made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk). Call has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, firing off two home runs while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Valley View got a massive performance out of Zoie Krupovich, who fired off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-4. Those four RBI gave Krupovich a new career-high. Kalli Karwowski was another key player, firing off two home runs while going 2-for-3.

Coming up, North Pocono will face off against Scranton Prep at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Valley View, they will square off against Abington Heights at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
