Softball Recap: Anthony Wayne Has No Trouble Against Ross

While Anthony Wayne put up some runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Ross. The Generals put the hurt on the Little Giants with a sharp 7-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Generals, who have now won 15 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Piper Phillips made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 16 over seven innings pitched. Those 16 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Lyla Carrizales was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Avrie Plontz, who earned three runs and two stolen bases.

Anthony Wayne's victory bumped their record up to 24-3. As for Ross, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-18.

Anthony Wayne does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Ross, they will head out on the road to take on Bowling Green at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bobcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.83 runs per game on average), something the Little Giants will no doubt try to take advantage of.
