Basketball Recap: Central Piles Up the Points Against Furlow Charter School

It was a Battle of the Birds when Central took on Furlow Charter School on Monday. The Central Hawks claimed a resounding 71-20 win over the Furlow Charter School Falcons. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 101-22 back in December of 2024.

Central found their leader in freshman Brody Leonard, who posted 19 points. Those 19 points set a new season-high mark for Leonard. Another player making a difference was Michael Bussey, who scored 13 points.

Despite the defeat, Furlow Charter School saw an underclassman step up: freshman Robert Angrish earned eight points and three steals. Those eight points gave Angrish a new career-high.

Central's victory bumped their record up to 11-7. As for Furlow Charter School, they dropped their record down to 0-17 with the loss, which was their 28th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Central has already played their next game, a 66-42 win against Schley County on the 28th. As for Furlow Charter School, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 71-63 defeat against Webster County on the 28th.
