Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Catie Power and Olivia Bolduc Lead St. John's Catholic Prep to Victory

There's no place like home for St. John's Catholic Prep, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. Everything went their way against the St. Paul's Girls Gators on Friday as the St. John's Catholic Prep Vikings made off with a 58-37 win. With that victory, the Vikings brought their scoring average up to 50.1 points per game.

Leading St. John's Catholic Prep to victory were Olivia Bolduc and Catie Power. Bolduc posted 18 points in addition to eight assists and six steals, while Power put up 21 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. The contest was Bolduc's ninth in a row with at least ten points. Samantha Shively was another key player, dropping a double-double on ten points and 11 boards.

St. John's Catholic Prep's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 5-12. As for St. Paul's Girls, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Mount de Sales Academy the next time they take the court. St. John's Catholic Prep will head out to face Mount de Sales Academy at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, while St. Paul's Girls will host them at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
