Baseball Recap: Huntingdon Comes Up Short

Huntingdon dropped their record down to 5-3 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins on the road. They fell just short of the Chestnut Ridge Lions by a score of 5-3. The Bearcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Connor Moore was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one triple. He has become a key player for Huntingdon: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 1-2 otherwise. Brock Bryson also deserves some recognition as he launched his first home run of the season.

As for Chestnut Ridge, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-4 record. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since May 7, 2024.

On Chestnut Ridge's side, Colton Boozer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits and racked up eight Ks.

On the hitting side, Brody Halkovich was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Cale Harrison, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs.

Huntingdon didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 14-11 win against Central on the 16th. As for Chestnut Ridge, they have also already played their next matchup, a 4-2 victory against Richland on the 16th.
