Basketball Recap: New Bern Takes a Loss

New Bern was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were one points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 31-30 heartbreaker at the hands of the Havelock Rams. If the Bears were looking for revenge after losing 43-38 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Havelock got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was O'Lora Krupey out in front who posted six points and eight rebounds. Kaitlynn Howell was another key player, putting up four points along with five boards and three steals.

New Bern's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Havelock, their record now sits at 2-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. New Bern will welcome Jacksonville at 6:00 p.m. on December 20th. As for Havelock, they will look to defend their home court on December 20th against West Carteret at 6:30 p.m.
