Volleyball Recap: Martin Luther Comes Up Short

Martin Luther was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 3-1 to the Brookfield Academy Blue Knights. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blue Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 back in September.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 25-18, 16-25, 25-18.

Danielle Wise paced Martin Luther's offense, picking up six kills. Wise got some help from Taryn Armbruster and her 13 assists. Wise also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Jayda Popa, each putting up three.

Martin Luther's loss dropped their record down to 9-15. As for Brookfield Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-6.

Coincidentally, Martin Luther and Brookfield Academy will both be playing Racine Lutheran the next time they take the court. The Spartans will head out to face the Crusaders at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Blue Knights will play them later in the day, at 3:00 p.m.
