Softball Recap: Sonora Snaps Nine-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Sonora fell victim to Calaveras and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 10-0 to the Calaveras Red Hawks. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wildcats of the 10-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Sonora's defeat ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Calaveras, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Sonora Wildcats challenge Escalon Cougars at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Calaveras, they will challenge Summerville at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be Summerville's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
