Baseball Recap: Portsmouth West Comes Up Short

Greenup County hit Portsmouth West with a five-run sixth inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Senators took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Musketeers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Musketeers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-1 back in April.

Portsmouth West is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-13. As for Greenup County, with the win, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 14-15.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Portsmouth West will venture away from home to challenge Dawson-Bryant at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Greenup County, they will face off against Tates Creek at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
