Baseball Recap: Grand Terrace's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

Grand Terrace and Trinity Classical Academy squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Grand Terrace had to settle for second. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Knights. The Titans' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Ray Roybal was huge no matter where he played even without the win. On the mound, he tossed 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Grand Terrace is 6-2 when he allows at most one walk, but 9-10 otherwise. Roybal was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.

Roybal wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Conner Burns, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Grand Terrace's defeat dropped their record down to 15-12. As for Trinity Classical Academy, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 22-2.

Grand Terrace does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Trinity Classical Academy, they will challenge Dos Pueblos at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Knights 1.9, the Chargers 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
