Softball Recap: Atlanta Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Atlanta, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They never let the Liberty-Eylau Leopards get on the board and left with a 15-0 win on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Rabbits, who have now won ten contests by nine runs or more so far this season.

Gabby Arredondo was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. Arredondo was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, Carlajah Adger was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing five bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Those five stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Ella Garrett was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Atlanta always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .714. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matchups.

Atlanta's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-9-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Liberty-Eylau, they are on a 16-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-15.

Coincidentally, Atlanta and Liberty-Eylau will both be playing New Boston the next time they take the field. The Leopards will host the Lions at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Rabbits will head out to face them at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
