Softball Recap: Wachusett Regional Has No Trouble Against Doherty Memorial

Wachusett Regional won the last time they faced Doherty Memorial and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Mountaineers blew past the Highlanders 13-2. The result was nothing new for the Mountaineers, who have now won five matches by ten runs or more so far this season.

The win made it two in a row for Wachusett Regional and bumps their season record up to 9-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Doherty Memorial, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wachusett Regional will head out to square off against Westfield at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Doherty Memorial, they will venture away from home to take on Advanced Math & Science Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something the Highlanders surely won't give up without a fight.
