Football Recap: Camarillo Takes a Loss

Camarillo was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 42-6 defeat at the hands of the Oaks Christian Lions. While losing is never fun, the Scorpions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 424th, while the Lions are ranked 121st).

Brad Barlow threw for 73 yards and one TD. Johnny Diaz was his top target, picking up 34 receiving yards. On the ground, Shane Feller rushed for 82 yards.

Camarillo's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Oaks Christian, their win bumped their record up to 3-6.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Camarillo is set to face off against their familiar foe St. Bonaventure at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Oaks Christian will challenge rival Simi Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
