Softball Recap: Rifle Bears vs. Cedaredge Bruins
There's no place like home for Rifle, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Cedaredge Bruins on Friday, sneaking past 8-7. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Bears also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2023.
Aaliyah Mangnall was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2. Another player making a difference was Ella Jackson, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Rifle's victory bumped their record up to 10-13. As for Cedaredge, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-9.
Rifle does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cedaredge, they will challenge Alamosa at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Alamosa is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season.
