Football Game Preview: Dunbar Wildcats vs. Kennedale Wildcats

Dunbar hasn't had much luck against Kennedale recently, but that could start to change on Friday. Dunbar will look to defend their home field against Kennedale at 7:30 p.m. Dunbar will be strutting in after a win while Kennedale will be coming in after a loss.

Dunbar is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Madison 52-9 on Friday. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Trojans recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Kamron Lloyd was his usual excellent self, rushing for 295 yards and four TDs while picking up 12.8 yards per carry. Those four rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Dunbar also got help from Detrick James, who showed off his sure hands for 83 receiving yards.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Kennedale faced off against Panther Creek on Friday. The Wildcats were dealt a 56-17 defeat at the hands of the Panthers. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 368th, while the Panthers are ranked 114th).

Dunbar will have to contain Riley Bingham as he made an impact in Kennedale's last game. He rushed for 142 yards and one touchdown.

Kennedale's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Dunbar, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Dunbar came up short against Kennedale in their previous meeting back in September of 2024, falling 18-13. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Bingham, who rushed for 155 yards and one score on only 15 carries. Now that Dunbar knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
