Football Recap: Mandarin Piles Up the Points Against Rockledge

Mandarin won the last time they faced Rockledge and things went their way on Friday too. The Mustangs claimed a resounding 38-10 victory over the Raiders. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 25th, while the Raiders are ranked 147th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Mandarin's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kyree Wilson, who rushed for 102 yards and two scores on only six carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Brysen Wright, who picked up 156 receiving yards and one TD.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Mandarin was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 242 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rockledge only rushed for 90.

The win made it two in a row for Mandarin and bumps their season record up to 6-1. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 36.0 points over those games. As for Rockledge, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-4.

Looking ahead, Mandarin will host Fletcher at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Senators' defense has only allowed 14.1 points per game this season, so the Mustangs' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Rockledge, they will take on Vero Beach at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
