El Capitan has gone 8-2 against Golden Valley recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Gauchos will host the Cougars at 6:00 p.m. El Capitan is coming into the match hot, having won their last five games.

Last Tuesday, El Capitan beat Merced 3-1.

El Capitan had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 24-26, 25-16, 25-18, 25-17.

Meanwhile, Golden Valley didn't have quite enough to beat Buhach Colony on Tuesday and fell 3-2.

Golden Valley took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 25-9, 22-25, 19-25, 25-20, 15-9.

Golden Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 22-15. As for El Capitan, they pushed their record up to 29-11 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home.

El Capitan came out on top in a nail-biter against Golden Valley in their previous matchup on April 1st, sneaking past 3-2. Will the Gauchos repeat their success, or do the Cougars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
