Chase Landtroop leads a balanced attack to beat KIPP Bold City

Recap: Fernandina Beach Pirates vs. KIPP Bold City Greyhounds

The Fernandina Beach Pirates proved they can win big last Thursday (they won by 24) but on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged KIPP Bold City out 43-41. The win made it back-to-back wins for Fernandina Beach.

Fernandina Beach's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chase Landtroop, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Terrence Jones, who scored six points along with nine rebounds and three steals.

Elijah Banks and Donovan Fils certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Banks scored 15 points, while Fils scored 13 points.

Fernandina Beach pushed their record up to 15-8 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. As for KIPP Bold City, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-15.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fernandina Beach will take on Episcopal School of Jacksonville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Fernandina Beach is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 50.7 points per game this season. KIPP Bold City will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Christ's Church Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 29th. Christ's Church Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
