Football Game Preview: Motley County Matadors vs. Hedley Owls

For the first time this season, Motley County will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will head out to square off against the Hedley Owls at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Motley County's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.

Last Thursday, Motley County came up short against Sands and fell 69-60. The Matadors were up 38-23 in the second quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Meanwhile, Hedley got themselves on the board against Amarillo FFC on Friday, but Amarillo FFC never followed suit. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Lions 46-0. The Owls' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Motley County fell to 6-1. As for Hedley, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-6.

Everything came up roses for Motley County against Hedley in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 62-7 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Matadors since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
