Nicolet wouldn't go down easily and took Whitefish Bay into a fifth set where they got it done with a six-point win. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 17-25, 24-26, 25-12, 15-9.
Meanwhile, Homestead was able to grind out a solid victory over Greendale on Monday, taking the game 3-1.
Homestead had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-18, 25-15, 25-23.
Kennedy Klueger had a dynamite game for Homestead, getting 20 digs and two aces. Klueger is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in the last four games she's played dating back to last season.
Homestead was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 16 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in August of 2023.
Nicolet has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 10-13 record this season. As for Homestead, their record now sits at 15-13.
