Baseball Recap: Woodland Takes a Loss

After flying high against Randolph County last Monday, Woodland came back down to earth. Woodland fell just short of the Wadley Bulldogs by a score of 6-5 on Tuesday. The Bobcats were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bulldogs earlier this season, when they won 5-1.

Woodland saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bradley Brasher, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI. Another was Paxton Gowens, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Woodland dropped their record down to 2-11 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Wadley, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-6.

While Woodland had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
