Baseball Game Recap: Hoquiam Grizzlies vs. Tenino Beavers

Hoquiam extended their losing streak to 14 on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 2-15 in the process. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 14-0 to the Tenino Beavers, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Beavers this season, with their most recent loss being a 14-0 defeat on Tuesday.

As for Tenino, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-5. The result was nothing new for the Beavers, who have now won ten games by six runs or more so far this season.

For Tenino's part, they got a massive performance out of Jack Burkhardt, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases Burkhardt has posted since back in March. Will Feltus was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hoquiam will take on Ilwaco at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Fishermen's pitching crew has only allowed 2.2 runs per game this season, so the Grizzlies' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Tenino, they will challenge Adna at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Pirates will roll in looking for their 20th straight victory, something the Beavers surely won't give up without a fight.
