Softball Recap: Somerset Academy Panthers vs. American Patriots
Somerset Academy extended their postseason success on Wednesday against American. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Patriots a 7-0 shutout. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-1 back in March.
The result came thanks to Caitlyn Diaz's shutout, as she gave up just five hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Somerset Academy let Emily Munoz and Katie Bailey run wild. Munoz went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, one triple, and one double, while Bailey went 3-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. Those three hits gave Munoz a new career-high. Kelsey Gonzalez was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs and one stolen base.
