Basketball Preview: FAMU DRS Baby Rattlers vs. Munroe Bobcats
The FAMU DRS Baby Rattlers will square off against the Munroe Bobcats at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. FAMU DRS is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
Last Thursday, FAMU DRS ended up a good deal behind the Lions and lost 55-39. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for FAMU DRS in their matchups with the Lions: they've now lost three in a row.
Despite their loss, FAMU DRS saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Kennedy Middleton, who scored 14 points, was perhaps the best of all. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Middleton has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Hailyn Forbes, who scored four points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Even though Munroe has not done well against the Spartans recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Munroe snuck past the Spartans with a 54-48 victory. The win made it back-to-back wins for Munroe.
FAMU DRS has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. As for Munroe, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-15 record this season.
Things could have been worse for FAMU DRS, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 45-28 loss to the Bobcats in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. Can FAMU DRS avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
