Basketball Game Preview: Grissom Tigers vs. Guntersville Wildcats

Having just played yesterday, the Grissom Tigers will get right back to it and host the Guntersville Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Grissom is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.

On Friday, Grissom opened the new year with a less-than-successful 60-53 defeat to Albertville.

Guntersville has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were dealt a 67-37 loss at the hands of Vestavia Hills on Thursday. The contest marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Grissom's defeat dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Guntersville, their loss dropped their record down to 11-6.

Grissom couldn't quite finish off Guntersville in their previous matchup back in January of 2021 and fell 70-67. Can Grissom avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
